The source of inspiration, derived after studying the landscape of Uppada
While we associate the creation of lampshade with a robust and solid shape,
Can the fabric not be depicted as a fabric?
Drape based explorations are conducted, with different trypes of bases woven, treatments with starch, addition of metals to arrive at the desired forms of drape
With the select drapes, Motifs derived from the peacock feathers of Uppada are iterated, with the following derived.
The motifs are designed such as to project a sense of movement.
The yardages are woven based on the above layouts created
Woven with Linen yarns, Silk and lurex inlays on a SAORI WX60 Loom
